Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Lysenkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Nguyen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergey Lysenkov! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nguyen lands a two punch combo.
Nguyen really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Lysenkov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Nguyen pushes Lysenkov off and gets back to his feet. Nguyen really is a fat lump. Lysenkov shoots in and bounces Nguyen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nguyen working a defensive guard but Lysenkov manages to pass into side control anyway.
Nguyen tries to improve position but can't. Nguyen can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nguyen is being controlled here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nguyen tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lysenkov swings around for an armbar but Nguyen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lysenkov's guard. Nguyen trying to control but Lysenkov is working from the bottom. Nguyen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Lysenkov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lysenkov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Nguyen postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nguyen throwing strikes but missing. Nguyen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lysenkov has his hands on Nguyen's head, controlling the position. Nguyen stands up from Lysenkov's guard - Nguyen perhaps looking for a knockout. Lysenkov wants to clinch up but Nguyen keeps it at a distance. Nguyen swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Lysenkov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nguyen gets a clinch. Lysenkov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lysenkov throws a head kick but Nguyen moves out of range.
Lysenkov looks winded! Lysenkov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nguyen napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lysenkov working away. Nguyen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Nguyen is working for a submission of some sort.
Lysenkov gets back to full guard.
Lysenkov is working an open guard so Nguyen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Sergey Lysenkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nguyen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Nguyen tries to sprawl but Lysenkov drives through with a takedown into half guard. Nguyen is looking to control Lysenkov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nguyen avoid being mounted?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nguyen is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Nguyen is not content to let Lysenkov control the position. Lysenkov tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Nguyen. Nguyen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nguyen preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Andre Nguyen will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lysenkov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lysenkov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nguyen can't do much from the bottom here. Lysenkov wants to control but Nguyen is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lysenkov throwing strikes but Nguyen manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Nguyen wants to control but Lysenkov is keeping him busy. Lysenkov tries to buck Nguyen off but Nguyen is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nguyen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lysenkov keeps working. Nguyen decides to stand back up. Nguyen steps back and let's Lysenkov get back to his feet. Nguyen tries to close the distance and clinch but Lysenkov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. That's two minutes gone in the round. Lysenkov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lysenkov postures up.
Nguyen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Lysenkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Nguyen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nguyen trying to keep a closed guard but Lysenkov is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lysenkov tries to bum rush Nguyen with a series of wild strikes but Nguyen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nguyen shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lysenkov eats them both and turns towards Nguyen to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Lysenkov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nguyen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lysenkov is in Nguyen's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lysenkov is breathing heavily. Lysenkov is in close to Nguyen's body, working some short punches and elbows. Nguyen working a defensive guard here.
Lysenkov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nguyen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nguyen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nguyen! Nguyen creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nguyen working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Lysenkov managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Nguyen.
Nguyen throwing shots but missing, from side control. Nguyen scores with punches from side control. Nguyen lands a few punches from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lysenkov holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Lysenkov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Nguyen is controlling him well. The strikes coming from Nguyen are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Nguyen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lysenkov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Nguyen working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nguyen working the head and body with strikes. Nguyen working the ground and pound but Lysenkov is defending the strikes. An elbow from Nguyen crashes against the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andre Nguyen dominated that second round. That's time! Nguyen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Lysenkov misses with a wild body shot. Lysenkov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Nguyen on his heels. He'll look to pass Nguyen's guard now, I'm sure. Nguyen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lysenkov defends it easily. Nguyen keeping full guard, as Lysenkov tries to pass. Nguyen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lysenkov lands a couple of elbows. Nguyen keeping full guard, as Lysenkov tries to pass. Lysenkov wants to control from the top but Nguyen keeps moving. Andre Nguyen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lysenkov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nguyen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lysenkov has managed to get both his arms back between Nguyen's legs - danger averted. Nguyen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nguyen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lysenkov's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nguyen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lysenkov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lysenkov throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Nguyen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Nguyen wants to control from the top but Lysenkov keeps moving.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nguyen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lysenkov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Lysenkov gets a takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nguyen wants to sweep but Lysenkov has passed to side control! Lysenkov decides to take the fight back to the feet. Nguyen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nguyen throws a big counter combination but Lysenkov scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Lysenkov lands with an uppercut that bounces Nguyen off the cage and back into range. Nguyen throws a one two combo.
Lysenkov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nguyen to the mat! Nguyen manages to get full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lysenkov scoring with some ground and pound. Lysenkov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Nguyen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lysenkov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lysenkov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
And that's the end of the fight! Sergey Lysenkov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Nguyen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
