Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kordell Bailey Sr.! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
41 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tatsuya Aoki! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bailey Sr. misses with a hook
and Aoki counters with a nice uppercut. Aoki looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Bailey Sr. is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bailey Sr. darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Aoki is looking to get back to is feet but Bailey Sr. passes into side control.
Bailey Sr. thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bailey Sr. advances nicely into full mount. Bailey Sr. lands a nice shot to the head. Aoki is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki is bucking up trying to escape but Bailey Sr. cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Bailey Sr. putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aoki is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bailey Sr. cracks Aoki with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Bailey Sr. has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Aoki regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bailey Sr. not landing any meaningful shots this time. Bailey Sr. throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bailey Sr. connects with a nice short shot to Aoki's temple. Aoki is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aoki is not content to let Bailey Sr. control the position. Aoki wants to get back to full guard. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Nice strikes from Bailey Sr. there. Aoki is not content to let Bailey Sr. control the position. That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey Sr. trying to control but he's not successful this time. Aoki tries to hold on but Bailey Sr. postures up. Bailey Sr. prevents Aoki from getting the reversal. Bailey Sr. lands with some strikes. Aoki tries to lock up and control but Bailey Sr. gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bailey Sr. with shots to the head and body - Aoki looks very uncomfortable down there. Bailey Sr. lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bailey Sr. wants to control the pace but Aoki is squirming around nicely. Aoki is working to get back to half guard.
Bailey Sr. scoring with strikes but Aoki is staying in there.
Aoki is rocked! Bailey Sr. has hold of Aoki's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Aoki manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Aoki is still in real trouble! Can Bailey Sr. finish him?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aoki is bucking up trying to escape but Bailey Sr. cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Bailey Sr. controlling from the full mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bailey Sr. connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Bailey Sr. trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bailey Sr. lands a big shot to the head and Aoki winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
