Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Hubert Patterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Zintis Switch! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patterson gets caught flat footed, as Switch shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Switch sitting in guard, not really doing much. Patterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Switch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Patterson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Switch seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Patterson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Switch is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. With the fighters up against the cage, Switch throws an elbow but misses. Switch decides to pull guard. Patterson advances to half guard. Switch wants to get back to full guard but Patterson has passed into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patterson stands up and beckons Switch to his feet. Switch clinches. Switch gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Patterson is staying active underneath Switch, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Switch thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Switch is looking for a kimura but Patterson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Switch to get the leverage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Patterson is looking to escape. Switch is pressing down on Patterson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Patterson is holding on for now. Patterson is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Switch trying to control the action but Patterson is working from the bottom. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Switch in particular looking to stall.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Switch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Patterson is trying to stand up here but Switch is controlling him well. Switch sitting and controlling from the half guard. Patterson works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patterson trying to control the position here. Switch stops Patterson from standing up. Patterson is working an open guard so Switch takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Switch closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Patterson kicks Switch off and gets back to his feet. Switch works the jab nicely. Switch throws a wild body kick that Patterson sees coming a mile off. Switch closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Switch pushes Patterson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Switch jumps guard.

Patterson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Switch, up you get! Patterson throws a head kick that misses. Switch throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Patterson was covering up waiting for the punch and Switch finishes the takedown easily into guard. Patterson keeping full guard, as Switch tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Zintis Switch will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Patterson enables Switch to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Patterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Switch prevents Patterson from getting back to his feet. Switch won't allow Patterson to sweep him here. Switch trying to control the position from guard on top but Patterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Switch seems content to control from guard here. Switch sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Patterson's guard. Switch is looking to take a break and control but Patterson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Switch stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Patterson to get to his feet. Switch looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Patterson gets caught napping as Switch dives in and scores a takedown. Patterson manages to retain guard. Patterson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Switch manages to pass to side control. Switch throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Switch. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Switch controlling the action here. Patterson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Switch's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Switch's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patterson working for a choke but Switch is defending well. You can see the frustration on Switch's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Switch looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Switch wants to control from the top but Patterson keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Switch might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Patterson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Switch won't allow Patterson to get back to his feet. Switch looking to pass the guard. Switch trying to control but Patterson is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Switch is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zintis Switch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Switch throws a front kick aimed at Patterson's knee but Patterson avoids it well. An attempted straight right counter from Patterson misses the target. Switch shoots in and gets a takedown into Patterson's guard. Switch stays in close to Patterson's body and controls the position. Switch trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Switch postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Patterson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Switch, into his guard.

Patterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Switch just leaning against Patterson, taking a breather. Switch has picked Patterson up - he's going for a ride! Switch dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Switch not landing any meaningful shots this time. Patterson wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Switch trying to mount his opponent but Patterson defends it. Switch throws a strike but Patterson avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Switch must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Patterson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Patterson stopping the sweep attempt from Switch. Switch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Switch has Patterson pulled in close to control his posture. Switch keeping moving, preventing Patterson from controlling successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Switch looking to hit a scissor sweep but Patterson is one step ahead there.
And that's the end of the fight! Zintis Switch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Switch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
