![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/round1.jpg) The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Kesler with that takedown attempt. Kesler takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Ruiz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kesler is breathing heavily. A jab from Ruiz does it's job there. Kesler takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kesler takes one to the chin there. Kesler closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Ruiz throws out a powerful jab. Ruiz lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Kesler falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Carlos Ruiz!
