Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdul Hai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Liddell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Abdul Hai! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddell is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hai's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Hai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Liddell. Hai moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Liddell's guard. Hai pushes down on Liddell's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hai trying to control the action but Liddell is working from the bottom. Hai trying to mount his opponent but Liddell defends it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hai is controlling the pace.
It looks like Hai might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell is trying to stand.
Hai controlling the action here. Liddell controlling the position well. Liddell wants to control but Hai is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Well, if Hai is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hai is working for a kimura but Liddell is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hai prevents Liddell from standing back up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Hai gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Liddell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Liddell is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell looks to land a strike but Hai avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Hai looking for a guillotine here but Liddell defends easily.
Liddell would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Liddell throws an elbow that misses. Hai uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Liddell's guard. Nice move by Hai!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hai is in close to Liddell's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hai advances to half guard. Hai is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Liddell has managed to free his arm - good work. Liddell wants to sweep but Hai has passed to side control! Hai tries to move into full mount but can't pass Liddell's legs. Liddell regains half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Liddell pushes Hai off looking to stand but Hai dives back in and keeps control.
Hai seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Liddell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hai is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Abdul Hai dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Liddell misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hai shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Liddell wants to stand and escape but Hai is having none of it. Hai pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Liddell is keeping the position for now. Hai stops Liddell from standing up. Liddell keeping full guard, as Hai tries to pass. Hai keeps trying to improve his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hai is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Liddell has his hands on Hai's head, controlling the position. Hai trying to control the position from guard on top but Liddell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Liddell swivels though and keeps the full guard. Liddell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hai controls the pace.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Liddell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Liddell thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Liddell escapes and gets back to his feet. Liddell scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Liddell circles away. Liddell clinches with his opponent.
Liddell is trying to break the clinch but Hai has him pressed against the cage. Hai drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hai is breathing heavily. Hai blocks the elbow strike.
Hai wants to take the fight to the mat but Liddell manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Mike Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdul Hai. Liddell manages to pull guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Liddell has Hai pulled in close to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hai is pushing down on Liddell's leg trying to pass to half guard. Liddell is fighting to maintain full guard but Hai has managed to sneak the leg through. Hai prevents Liddell from standing back up.
Hai is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hai wants to control but Liddell is keeping him busy. Liddell tries to roll over but Hai keeps him under control. Liddell pushes Hai off looking to stand but Hai dives back in and keeps control.
Liddell gets full guard. Liddell has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Hai is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddell prevents the takedown attempt.
Hai has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Liddell is trying to keep an underhook but Hai manages to get the takedown into half guard. Liddell tries to get to full guard but Hai has control of the leg. Hai wants to lay and pray for a moment but Liddell keeps working. Hai trying to mount his opponent but Liddell defends it. Hai is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Liddell tries to roll over but Hai keeps him under control. Liddell wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Liddell dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Hai shoots for a takedown but Liddell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. No luck for Hai with that takedown attempt. Hai misses with a takedown attempt - Liddell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Liddell feinted with a counter takedown. Mike Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdul Hai. Hai looks to clinch and Liddell counters with a three punch combo that has Hai backing up. Hai nods at Liddell to acknowledge the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liddell throws a leg kick so Hai counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hai takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hai controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Liddell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hai looking to pass the guard. Liddell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hai looking to pass the guard. Liddell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hai gets back to full guard.
Liddell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hai shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Liddell sprawls well. Liddell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hai gets slowly back to his feet. Liddell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hai's guard. Liddell trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hai's guard. Liddell postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hai is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Liddell, into his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell keeping moving, preventing Hai from controlling successfully. Hai looking to sit in guard and control but Liddell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hai avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddell throws a big right hand that misses. Liddell throwing strikes from guard but Hai blocks nicely. Liddell throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Liddell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Liddell stands up and waves to Hai to follow him. Liddell gets a double leg takedown into Hai's guard. Liddell wants to stand but Hai has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Abdul Hai has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hai looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that's the end of the fight! Mike Liddell showed his dominance in that final round. I think Liddell has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
