Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, The Steel Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Donald McTavish!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel Penn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McTavish throws out a counter right but Steel Penn avoids it with no problem.
Steel Penn throws a lazy head kick
enabling McTavish to counter with a crisp jab.
Steel Penn tries a head kick but it misses.

Steel Penn darts in and clinches McTavish up against the cage.
Steel Penn has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

McTavish breaks from the clinch.
McTavish moves out of range of the body kick from Steel Penn.
McTavish throws a right and a left that Steel Penn avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steel Penn darts in and clinches McTavish up against the cage.

McTavish pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Steel Penn throws a sloppy head kick
enabling McTavish to counter with a crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steel Penn defending well as McTavish loads up on a big left hand.
Steel Penn looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Steel Penn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The Steel Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steel Penn throws a lazy head kick
and McTavish counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McTavish tries to bum rush Steel Penn with a series of wild strikes but Steel Penn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Steel Penn darts in trying to clinch
enabling McTavish to counter with a crisp jab.
Steel Penn closes the distance but McTavish moves to the side
and Steel Penn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
McTavish has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steel Penn misses with a wild body shot.

Steel Penn forces McTavish back against the cage and clinches.
Steel Penn blocking some punches.

McTavish's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Steel Penn is looking to clinch but McTavish is avoiding it.
A jab from McTavish misses.

McTavish gets tackled into the cage by Steel Penn. Steel Penn maintains the clinch.

Steel Penn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steel Penn throws a lazy head kick
and McTavish counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Steel Penn goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Steel Penn throws a sloppy head kick

and McTavish counters with a crisp right hand that drops Steel Penn! McTavish lets Steel Penn back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Steel Penn is rocked!


It looks like The Steel Penn has been cut.
Steel Penn is looking to clinch.
Oh Steel Penn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McTavish is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Steel Penn had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
McTavish cracks Steel Penn with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Steel Penn falls to his knees and McTavish doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donald McTavish!
A relieved looking Donald McTavish thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The Steel Penn was interviewed post fight and said 'I will be back. '.
