Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felton Potts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Whaley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whaley is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Drowning Pool - Tear Away. Bobby Whaley will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felton Potts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Whaley! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Potts takes a swing at Whaley's ribcage but misses. Potts closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Potts tries for a takedown but Whaley manages to get underhooks.
Potts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Potts instigates a clinch. Potts is looking to break free of the clinch but Whaley has double underhooks. Potts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Potts tries to pull guard but Whaley holds him up against the cage and eventually Potts drops back down to his feet.
Potts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Whaley walks away with a smile on his face. Potts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Felton Potts. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whaley darts in and clinches Potts up against the cage. Whaley prevents a takedown attempt there.
Whaley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potts drives through and clinches with Whaley against the cage.
Whaley is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Potts is defending well. Whaley has Potts pressed against the cage, preventing Potts from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Potts successfully pulls guard.
Potts has an active guard here but Whaley has managed to pass into half guard.
Potts is controlling Whaley's trapped leg to prevent Whaley from advancing to side control. Potts tries to get to full guard but Whaley has control of the leg. Whaley wants to free his trapped foot but Potts is holding on for dear life with his legs. Potts gets back to full guard.

Potts keeping moving, preventing Whaley from controlling successfully. Potts controls Whaley momentarily but Whaley frees himself. Whaley preventing the sweep. Potts is trying to control the position but Whaley postures up. Potts controlling Whaley's posture. Potts controls Whaley momentarily but Whaley frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whaley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Potts swivels though and keeps the full guard. Whaley trying to stand up but can't free himself from Potts's guard. Potts looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Whaley looks winded! Potts swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Potts clinches. Potts wants to break free but Whaley has control.
Potts tries to circle away but Whaley has him pinned against the cage. Potts wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Whaley prevents Potts from breaking the clinch. Whaley drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Potts drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Whaley gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Potts looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Whaley wants to take the fight to the mat but Potts manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Potts has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Whaley drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Potts prevents a takedown attempt there.
Whaley keeps control of Potts as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Felton Potts dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Potts throws a jab when Whaley was well out of range. Potts slips a jab and a cross from Whaley.
Whaley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Potts moves into the clinch. Potts has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Both fighters working to control the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Potts manages to break the clinch.
Whaley moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Potts rushes Whaley and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Potts throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Whaley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Potts has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Whaley has managed to get both his arms back between Potts's legs - danger averted. Potts has control of Whaley's left arm, preventing Whaley from doing any damage. Whaley is breathing heavily. Potts is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Potts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Whaley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Whaley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Whaley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Potts throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Potts had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Whaley defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Potts wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Whaley is now in half guard. Whaley controlling the action here. Potts trying to control from the bottom.

Potts tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Potts is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Potts gets back to half guard. Whaley prevents Potts from improving his position. Whaley stops Potts from getting back to his feet.

Bobby Whaley has got the better of the ground game so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Potts is looking to escape. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Potts wants to control but Whaley is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Whaley scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bobby Whaley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Horrible takedown attempt by Potts or perhaps it was just good defense by Whaley, which made it look bad.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Potts misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Whaley.
Whaley wants to counter with a clinch but Potts pushes him away. Potts rushes Whaley and presses him up against the cage. Potts wants to break the clinch but can't.
Potts is trying to break free. Whaley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Whaley moves into range and clinches up with Potts. Whaley has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Potts is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Potts breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Potts shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Whaley as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Felton Potts. That's going to take a lot out of him. Whaley throws a nice looking combination but Potts bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Potts wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Whaley clinches. Whaley is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Potts pulls him back up using the underhooks. Whaley tries to pull guard but Potts won't allow it.

Whaley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Whaley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Potts tries to land a sweep but no joy. Whaley trying to control but Potts is working from the bottom. Potts wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Potts not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
