Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Oneil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myles Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Myles Dawson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Chad Oneil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Myles Dawson!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Darius Henderson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oneil tries to keep at a distance but Dawson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dawson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Oneil is struggling to control the position.

Oneil is trying to pull guard but Dawson has him pressed against the cage.

Oneil ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Oneil no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Oneil has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Dawson has passed into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oneil wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dawson dives in for a single leg takedown but Oneil sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Dawson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dawson misses with a two punch combination.
Dawson misses with a few strikes there.
Dawson punishes Oneil's body with a nice straight punch.

Dawson shoots in and gets a takedown into Oneil's guard.
Oneil wants to sweep but no luck.
Oneil wants to stand and escape but Dawson is having none of it.

Oneil trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Oneil is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Oneil tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Oneil has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Oneil wants to stand and escape but Dawson is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dawson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Oneil sprawls well initially but Dawson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Dawson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Oneil's guard.
Oneil is looking to stand up but Dawson isn't so interested in that idea.
Dawson wants to get up but he can't break Oneil's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Oneil really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Oneil is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Dawson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Dawson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Oneil has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dawson uses from the top position.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Dawson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dawson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Dawson stalks Oneil and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Oneil's face. Oneil staggers backwards, shaken.
Dawson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Oneil moves away.
It looked like Oneil was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Oneil pulls guard effortlessly.
Dawson tries to free his leg and advance position but Oneil is retaining full guard.
Oneil wants to stand up but Dawson is controlling him.
Oneil pulls Dawson in close to prevent any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Myles Dawson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dawson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
