PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dark Realos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jesus Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dark Realos!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Realos fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Realos shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Chan is trying to defend but Realos finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Chan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Realos is on him like a limpet, forcing Chan back against the cage.
Chan is trying to drag Realos to the mat but Realos just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Realos is pressed up against the cage. Chan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Realos down to the mat. Realos avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Realos darts in and clinches Chan up against the cage.

Realos gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Chan regains guard.

Chan uses the cage to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Realos pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Chan instigates a clinch.
Chan is trying to pull guard but Realos has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesus Chan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A nice left hand lands by Realos.

Chan breaks from the clinch.
Chan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Realos avoids it really well and circles away.
Realos with the counter takedown but Chan avoids it easily.
Chan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Realos circles away.

Realos tries to sprawl but Chan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Realos is trying to maintain the position but Chan is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Realos is looking to improve his position.

Realos is trying to stand up here but Chan is controlling him well.
Chan thows a huge punch but Realos dodges it nicely.
Chan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Realos blocking the ground and pound attempt from Chan.
Realos is looking for a sweep. Chan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Chan moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Realos.
Chan trying to control the position but Realos is working away.

Realos struggling a bit here.
Realos tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Realos keeps trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chan misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Realos is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Realos tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Chan gets to mount! Realos was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Chan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Realos is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesus Chan will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Chan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Realos to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Chan manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Chan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Chan has picked Realos up - he's going for a ride! Chan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Realos kicks Chan off and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chan really is a fat lump.
Chan has a takedown stuffed.

Realos manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chan on his heels. He'll look to pass Chan's guard now, I'm sure.

Realos passes Chan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Realos wants to take a breather but Chan is having none of it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Chan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Chan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Realos trying to control the position from guard on top but Chan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Realos wants to pass the guard but Chan is keeping the position.
Chan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Chan wants to improve his position but instead Realos has moved into half guard.

Chan looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Realos with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Realos throwing shots but Chan is blocking nicely.
Realos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Chan actively working from the bottom here.

Realos is looking for a kimura but Chan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Realos to get the leverage.
Chan regains full guard. Nicely done.
Realos advances to half guard.

Realos decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Realos scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Realos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chan circles away quickly and effectively.

Realos shoots in and bounces Chan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Chan has his feet on Realos's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Realos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chan sprawls well initially but Realos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Chan kicks off Realos and gets to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Realos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Chan gets full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chan trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Realos sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Realos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Chan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Chan looking for a sweep. Not yet Chan, not yet.
Realos controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Chan throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dark Realos will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Chan gets caught flat footed, as Realos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Chan wants to hit a switch here but Realos passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Chan there!
Realos trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Chan gets back to half guard.
Realos keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Chan looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Realos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chan's head.
Chan moves into full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Realos stops Chan from standing up.

Realos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Realos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Realos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Realos is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Chan wants to sweep but no luck.

Chan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Chan is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Realos dives into side control.
Chan wants to get back to his feet.
Realos tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chan is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Realos off and has taken his back!

Chan working for the choke.

Chan controlling well, preventing Realos from escaping the position.
Jesus Chan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chan doesn't have the hooks in and Realos manages to turn into his guard.
Chan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Realos is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Chan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Realos is aware though and is defending well.

Realos stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Realos drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Realos controls the position from side control.

Realos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Realos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Chan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chan is looking to escape.
Realos wants to take a breather but Chan is having none of it.
Chan is pressing down on Realos's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Realos wants to control from the top but Chan keeps moving.
Chan doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Chan has his foot on Realos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Realos works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Realos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Chan wants to sweep but no luck.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Dark Realos.
I think Realos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
