Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ada Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taisto Murkula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murkula has chosen Forever Angel as his entrance music. Taisto Murkula has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ada Reyes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Taisto Murkula! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reyes lands a glancing blow to the side of Murkula's head. Murkula on the wrong end of a nice jab. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Murkula, as that shot connected.
Murkula displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reyes throws out the jab. Reyes throws a sloppy head kick and Murkula moves out of range easily. Reyes misses the shot to the body. A jab from Murkula misses. Reyes throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Reyes swings widly with a right hand
and Murkula counters with a stiff right hand. Reyes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Murkula. Reyes has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Murkula. Taisto Murkula seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murkula walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Reyes checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Murkula uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reyes.
Reyes stuns Murkula with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reyes throws an overhand right that lands on Murkula's shoulder, as Murkula tries to avoid the shot. Murkula lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Murkula throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. Reyes throws a head kick but Murkula moves out of range.
Murkula misses the jab. Reyes throws a big shot that misses. Murkula shoots in but no luck this time. Reyes pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Decent striking displayed by Murkula there. Reyes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A little jabbing left from Murkula on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Murkula throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Reyes sees it coming and avoids it easily. Reyes throws out a loose jab but Murkula uses good head movement to avoid it. Murkula lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Murkula avoids the head kick by Reyes.
Murkula throws a nice inside leg kick. Ada Reyes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reyes throws a body shot but no joy. Reyes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Murkula.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Reyes on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Reyes jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Reyes just misses with a punch to the body.
Reyes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Reyes blocks a jab. Reyes looks for the body kick but Murkula saw that one coming. Murkula takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Murkula takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Murkula moves out of range as Reyes strikes. Murkula is looking for the big counter here. Murkula tries a low kick but Reyes avoids it. Murkula connects with a leg kick. Reyes looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Reyes loads up on a big right hand but Murkula slips the punch. Murkula fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Reyes checks it well. Reyes throws a head kick that misses. Murkula misses with an uppercut. Reyes moves away from the strike by Murkula. A quick step to the side and Reyes tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murkula scores with a sloppy right hand. Reyes should have avoided that one. Murkula looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Reyes throws a body punch but Murkula moves out of range. A little jabbing left from Murkula on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Murkula bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Reyes on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Murkula prevents Reyes from escaping the position. Murkula tries for a kimura but Reyes is defending well. You can see the frustration on Reyes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Reyes is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at GTi 888 that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murkula is chipping away with strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Murkula lands a nice forearm strike. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Murkula working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Murkula has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Reyes! Reyes tries to lock up and control but Murkula gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Murkula raining down shots from the mount! Reyes squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Murkula lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Murkula is landing with some decent strikes but Reyes is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Reyes is rocked! Murkula has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Murkula looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Reyes covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Taisto Murkula! In his post fight interview, Taisto Murkula started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
