Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rahkim Abdullah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 55 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anzhor Azhiev! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Azhiev has his takedown stuffed and Abdullah counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Abdullah throws a right and a left that Azhiev avoids nicely. Azhiev changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Azhiev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Abdullah sprawls well. Abdullah wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Azhiev gets slowly back to his feet. Abdullah ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. No luck for Azhiev with that takedown attempt. Rahkim Abdullah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anzhor Azhiev. Abdullah misses with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abdullah stuffs the takedown attempt from Azhiev. Azhiev gets slowly back to his feet. Abdullah clinches up with Azhiev and pushes him back against the cage. Abdullah turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Azhiev takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Azhiev is trying to escape the position but Abdullah is controlling the position. Abdullah has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Abdullah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Azhiev tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Abdullah really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. This is a sustained period of stalling by Abdullah. Azhiev sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Abdullah will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Abdullah's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Azhiev looking for submissions from an awkward position here. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Azhiev for as long as he can get away with. Azhiev is bucking up trying to escape but Abdullah cracks him with another couple of good strikes. In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Rahkim Abdullah! Rahkim Abdullah got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!' Anzhor Azhiev was interviewed post fight and said 'I still want that title shot. Im the most experienced fighter here and everyday wants to see me smash the champ so lets do it whenever he starts ducking me.'.
