The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azhiev has his takedown stuffed
and Abdullah counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Abdullah throws a right and a left that Azhiev avoids nicely.
Azhiev changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Azhiev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Abdullah sprawls well. Abdullah wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Azhiev gets slowly back to his feet.

Abdullah's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rahkim Abdullah got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
Anzhor Azhiev was interviewed post fight and said 'I still want that title shot. Im the most experienced fighter here and everyday wants to see me smash the champ so lets do it whenever he starts ducking me.'.
