Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gautham Gambhir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gautham Gambhir!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gambhir looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jackson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gambhir looking to pass the guard.
Gambhir seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson trying to keep a closed guard but Gambhir is proving a slippery customer.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Gambhir stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Gambhir pushes him off.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gambhir can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gambhir tries to kick Jackson off but Jackson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gambhir can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jackson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gambhir to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gambhir closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gambhir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson is defending against the submission attempts here by Gambhir.

Gambhir looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Jackson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Gambhir keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gambhir avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gambhir manages to break the clinch.
Gambhir stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gambhir wants it to stay on the feet.

Gambhir bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Jackson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gambhir clinches up with Jackson and pushes him back against the cage.

Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gambhir controls the pace.

Tony Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Let's hope that Gambhir has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gambhir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gambhir manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gambhir got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gambhir has managed to get both his arms back between Jackson's legs - danger averted.
Gambhir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gambhir's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Jackson will probably get the nod.

Jackson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gambhir has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gambhir manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jackson on his heels. He'll look to pass Jackson's guard now, I'm sure.

Jackson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tony Jackson.
