And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barret scores with a leg kick.
Barret moves out of range as Asai strikes.
Barret has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Barret there as he acknowledges the shot.
Barret tries to clinch up but Asai circles away and keeps his distance.
Asai was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Asai avoids the head kick by Barret.
Asai swats away the attempt to clinch by Barret.
Wayne Barret seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barret tries a head kick but it misses.
Barret has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Asai .
Asai has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Barret tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Asai manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Barret throws a push kick but Asai slaps the foot to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barret wants to clinch but Asai slips to the side
and Asai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Asai misses with a hook.
A slapping leg kick lands for Barret.
Asai misses with a few strikes there.
Asai throws a nice looking combination but Barret bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Barret tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Asai paws at him with a jab and circles away.

It looks like Wayne Barret has been cut.
Barret leaves his chin hanging out and Asai seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Barret crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
