Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ollie Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, William Wulver! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wulver throws a jab when Ford was well out of range. Sloppy strikes from Wulver. Those never looked like landing. A big left from Wulver misses. Wulver scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Ollie Ford has been cut. Wulver throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ford ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ford ducks under a wild hook from Wulver. Wulver throws a good cross that connects.
Wulver throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ford counters with a two punch combo. Ford avoids the body shot from Wulver.
Ford is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Wulver. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ford fails to land the takedown. Wulver misses with an uppercut. Ford saw that one coming. Wulver throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ford. Wulver throws a poor cross that misses
and Ford counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wulver is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ford dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wulver tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Ford presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Wulver tries to reverse the position but Ford maintains control. Ford landing punches. Ford could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Wulver tries to improve his position but Ford has taken his back! Ford has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Wulver tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Ford pushes Wulver away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
