Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luke Dawson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, The Filipino Champ! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dawson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Dawson throws a head kick that misses. Champ moves out of range of the body kick from Dawson.
Champ tries for a takedown but Dawson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Dawson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Champ shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Champ trying to control the position from guard on top but Dawson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Champ wants to stand but Dawson is controlling his posture from full guard. Champ makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dawson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dawson wants to stand up but Champ is controlling him. Champ trying to control but Dawson is working from the bottom. Champ stops Dawson from standing up. Champ trying to control but Dawson is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Champ drops back looking for a leg! Dawson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dawson manages to kick Champ off! Champ jumps back into Dawson's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Champ's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Champ working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dawson's head. Dawson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Champ off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Champ blocks a head kick by Dawson.
Champ has his takedown stuffed and Dawson counters with a low kick, right behind Champ 's knee. Champ shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dawson as he jumps to the side. Luke Dawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Filipino Champ. Champ shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dawson but Dawson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Champ shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Champ showed some decent athleticism there. Dawson is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Champ works his way into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dawson is pushing Champ's head away, looking to escape. Champ manages to hold on to the position though. Champ wants to stand but Dawson is controlling his arm. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Dawson is trying to get back to his feet. Champ passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Dawson! Champ raining down hammerfists from mount. Dawson bucks up and throws Champ to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! Dawson scores with a head kick.
Dawson stuffs the takedown attempt from Champ. Champ gets slowly back to his feet. Champ misses with a takedown attempt and Dawson counters with an outside leg kick.
Champ shoots in looking for a takedown but Dawson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Champ's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Champ looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Dawson throws a counter high kick but Champ was just alert enough to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dawson scoring well with a low kick there.
Champ misses with a takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Champ looks winded! Dawson lands a front kick. Dawson throws a head kick but Champ moves out of range.

Champ shoots in for a double leg but Dawson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Luke Dawson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Champ avoids the head kick by Dawson.

Champ misses with a takedown attempt and Dawson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Champ doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dawson counters with a head kick that drops Champ to the mat! Champ scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Champ is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dawson fakes the leg kick and cracks Champ in the body. Dawson goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Champ is still on wobbly legs! Can Dawson finish him? That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Champ crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dawson - the referee stops the clock and Champ gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dawson. Champ manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dawson lands a brutal head kick. Champ looks out on his feet and Dawson throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Luke Dawson! The Filipino Champ was interviewed post fight and said 'hes better than me its my honor to fight this guy,. '.
