Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brett Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ste Gats (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ste Gats has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brett Lester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ste Gats! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lester tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gats swivels and escapes. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gats. Lester wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Gats lands the left hand.
It looks like Brett Lester has been cut. Gats wants to clinch. Gats shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lester manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gats slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gats trying to control the position from guard on top but Lester is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gats wants to stand but Lester is controlling his posture from full guard. Gats is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gats trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Lester manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Gats working a defensive guard but Lester passes into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lester lands strikes from half guard. Lester looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gats gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gats is pulling down on Lester's head. It's preventing any offense from Lester, at least for the moment. Gats manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lester manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gats with a nice head shot there. Lester is looking for a triangle but Gats pushes his legs off easily.
Lester tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gats in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lester might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lester lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lester is looking for a triangle here but Gats uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Gats tries to advance to mount but Lester denies him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ste Gats dominated that round. The cut man is working on Brett Lester's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gats darts in and clinches Lester up against the cage. Lester is trying to force a seperation but Gats has the dominant position. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Gats. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Lester is trying to break the clinch but Gats is controlling him. Gats tries a body shot but Lester blocks it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gats gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lester is trying to break the clinch but Gats is controlling him. Gats has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lester clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Gats has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Lester has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's one minute gone in the round. Gats working for a choke but Lester is defending well. Lester preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Gats. Gats really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lester. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gats missing with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gats has the hooks in. Lester is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Lester manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gats's guard. Nice work there by Lester.
Gats pulls Lester in to control the position. Lester is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Lester scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Gats isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lester stacks Gats on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lester!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gats seems a little lost for a moment, as Lester dominates the positioning. Lester is chipping away with strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gats trying to control the position but Lester manages to sink in the hooks. Gats takes a big shot to the side of the head.

Gats is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Gats is breathing heavily. Lester could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Lester controlling from the back. Brett Lester overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lester lands strikes to the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gats rolls, trying to escape but Lester keeps control of the position.
Good control from Lester. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Brett Lester will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Brett Lester's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Lester fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gats avoids it really well and circles away. Gats decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gats is stalling here. Lester is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gats seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lester has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Gats wants to control but Lester postures up. Lester has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gats tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lester cracks Gats with an elbow. That is naaassty. Lester lands a few punches from side control. Lester tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Gats is looking for a sweep. Gats is still trying to improve position. Gats takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lester controls the position. Lester working the ground and pound. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gats struggling a bit here. Lester lands a nice forearm strike. Lester in side control, throwing shots but Gats defends. Gats is looking to regain half guard here but Lester keeps moving and retains side control. Lester slows the pace down. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gats takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Lester is working Gats over with some ground and pound from side control. Gats taking punishment in the form of punches.
Lester staying calm. Gats is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gats looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lester! Gats goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lester rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gats's guard! Nice work there by Lester! Lester is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lester controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Brett Lester showed his dominance in that final round. I think Lester has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
