The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lynch but Lynch pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hopkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lynch.

Hopkins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lynch was covering up waiting for the punch and Hopkins finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Oh Hopkins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hopkins lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Hopkins throws a good cross that connects.
Hopkins seems to have got his legs back now.
Lynch moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Lynch just misses with a punch to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hopkins darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Hopkins darts in looking for a takedown but Lynch gets double underhooks and turns Hopkins into the cage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vinny Hopkins.
