Del Toro comes to the cage accompanied by Bliss. Lopez has chosen Hurriganes - Get On as his entrance music. Ernesto Del Toro has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pedro Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Del Toro moves out of range of the strikes.
Lopez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Del Toro tries to land a front kick but Lopez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lopez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Del Toro tries to counter by clinching up but Lopez breaks away and moves out of range.
Lopez throws a nice looking combination but Del Toro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Del Toro scores with a jab to the body.

Del Toro instigates a clinch.
Lopez blocks an uppercut.
Lopez stalling against the cage.
Del Toro has a couple of punches blocked by Lopez.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lopez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Lopez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Del Toro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Del Toro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lopez has his foot on Del Toro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Del Toro works his way back into a safe position though.

Lopez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That kick from Del Toro tenderised Lopez's leg. Lopez is trying to keep his angry face on.
Lopez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lopez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Lopez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Del Toro.
A jab lands there for Lopez.

Lopez closes the distance and clinches up with Del Toro, looking for a takedown. Lopez pushes Del Toro against the cage but Del Toro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Del Toro looks to land a left hand but Lopez moved out of range nicely.
Lopez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Del Toro was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Lopez looks to land a right hand but Del Toro moved out of range.

Pedro Lopez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
