Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrey Koreshkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrey Koreshkov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kurt Malik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrey Koreshkov! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malik drives through with a takedown into Koreshkov's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Malik sitting in guard here, content to control. Malik preventing the sweep. Malik showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Malik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Koreshkov is keeping the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Malik passes Koreshkov's left leg - he's now in half guard. Koreshkov manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's one minute gone in the round. Malik misses with a double jab.
Koreshkov flicks out a counter leg kick but Malik steps away. Malik throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Koreshkov was covering up waiting for the punch and Malik finishes the takedown easily into guard. Koreshkov is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Malik dives into side control.
Koreshkov wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Koreshkov tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malik moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Malik is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Koreshkov has escaped the position, nice work there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koreshkov takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Malik advances to mount. Malik controlling from mount. Koreshkov really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The referee warns Koreshkov that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Malik looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malik lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Koreshkov hang on? Malik controlling the position easily from mount. Malik get's back to his feet. Malik closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Koreshkov quickly recovers to half guard. Koreshkov has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Malik is on him like a limpet, forcing Koreshkov back against the cage. Malik has Koreshkov pressed against the cage, preventing Koreshkov from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Malik is pushing Koreshkov up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Malik tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Koreshkov avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Koreshkov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Malik pulls guard successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Malik has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Koreshkov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Koreshkov wants to pass the guard but Malik is keeping the position. Malik is looking to stand up but Koreshkov isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kurt Malik dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Malik closes the distance and pushes Koreshkov back into the cage. Malik tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Koreshkov's elbow. Malik manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Malik pulls Koreshkov in close to prevent any damage. Malik is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Malik is controlling Koreshkov's posture. Malik tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malik has his foot on Koreshkov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Koreshkov works his way back into a safe position though. Koreshkov is fighting to break Malik's control of his arms but Malik is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Koreshkov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Koreshkov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Koreshkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Malik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Koreshkov checks the leg kick. Malik closes the distance and pushes Koreshkov back into the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Malik pulls Koreshkov into guard.
Koreshkov won't allow Malik to sweep him here. Malik pulls Koreshkov in close to prevent any damage. Malik has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Koreshkov should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Malik has tightened it up now! Koreshkov should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kurt Malik!
