Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christian leaves Normous with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Normous moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Alberto Christian has been cut.
Christian moves into the clinch.
Normous is trying to force a seperation but Christian has the dominant position.
Normous drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Christian gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Christian tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Normous just stands there and leans against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Normous has Christian pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Christian manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Normous has had enough of the clinch but Christian keeps him there for the moment.
Christian jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Normous walks away with a smile on his face. Christian gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Christian really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Normous throws a sloppy head kick and Christian moves out of range easily.
Normous misses with a takedown attempt - Christian sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Normous shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Christian as he jumps to the side.

Christian went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Christian gets a clinch.
Christian jumps into guard, dragging Normous to the mat.
Christian is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Christian pulls Normous in close to his closed guard and prevents Normous from doing any damage or advancing position.
Normous pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Christian is keeping the position for now.
Normous is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A looping hook to the body misses from Normous. Christian does a little dance to reset his feet.
As Normous looks to move away, Christian throws a big counter combo but Normous just gets out of the way.
Normous tries for a takedown but Christian sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Christian gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Normous managing to block the knees to the body from Christian.
Normous tries to pull guard but Christian won't allow it.

Normous stays in close to Christian's body and controls the position.
Christian is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Normous defends well.

That was a close round but I would say that Alberto Christian will probably get the nod.

Normous fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Christian was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Normous closes the distance and pushes Christian back into the cage.
Normous wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Christian has him pressed against the cage.
Normous tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Dixie Normous has got the better of the ground game so far.

Normous tries to stand and escape but Christian actually recovers to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Normous postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Christian is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Normous, into his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Normous wants to hold on but Christian pushes him away.

Christian gets control of Normous's arms and successfully pulls guard. Christian will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Normous drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Christian manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Normous has Christian in his guard.

Normous pulls Christian in close to prevent any damage.

Normous has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Christian is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Normous.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Christian is putting a hurting on Normous here, landing some big shots from side control.
Christian tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Christian will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Normous sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Normous takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Christian is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Normous tries to roll over but Christian keeps him under control.
Christian working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Normous wants to control but Christian is keeping busy.

Normous is refusing to be controlled, as Christian sits in half guard.
Christian looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Normous with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Normous is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Normous is trying to control but can't.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Christian, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
