Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcelino Case! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nate Diaz! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz tries a head kick but it misses.
Diaz stuffs the takedown attempt from Case. Case gets slowly back to his feet. Diaz throws a head kick that Case semi-blocks.
Diaz throws a body kick that misses. Diaz looks to land a body kick but Case moved away. Diaz just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromCase. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Diaz. Diaz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Diaz tries a head kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Diaz misses with a straight right. Case swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. No luck with that takedown attempt from Case.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Diaz. Diaz looks winded! Sloppy strikes from Case. Those never looked like landing. Diaz thows a left - swing and a miss! Case takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Case really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Case has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcelino Case. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Case manages to avoid it. Diaz throws a sloppy head kick and Case moves out of range easily. Case shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Diaz throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Nate Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Case fails with the takedown. Diaz has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz throws a lazy head kick and Case moves into the clinch. Case stalling in the clinch.
Diaz is trying to break the clinch but Case has him pressed against the cage. Diaz being controlled against the cage. Case goes for a takedown in the clinch but Diaz prevents it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Case has Diaz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Diaz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Diaz has had enough of the clinch but Case keeps him there for the moment. Diaz wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Case has him pressed against the cage. Diaz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. A frustrated look appears on Diaz's face as he tries to break the clinch. As Diaz tries to get set, Case tries to push him back and clinch up but Diaz manages to avoid the attempt. Case goes for a double leg but Diaz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Diaz continues to drive forward. Diaz scores with a sloppy right hand. Case should have avoided that one. Case looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Diaz is fending him off so far but Case persists. Nope, Diaz circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcelino Case. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The crowd cheers as Case lands an impressive looking overhand right. Diaz doesn't seem phased though. Nate Diaz seems to be getting the better of the standup. Case blocks a head kick by Diaz.
Diaz gets tackled into the cage by Case. Case maintains the clinch. Case manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Case has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Diaz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Case keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Diaz's efforts to push away. Diaz tries to break free but Case pushes him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Case keeps control of Diaz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Diaz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Diaz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. The referee is keeping an eye on Case - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Case stalls. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Diaz wants to break the clinch but can't.

Diaz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Diaz wants it to stay on the feet. Diaz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Case looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Case displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Diaz throws out the jab. Diaz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Case connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Diaz scrambles back to his feet. Diaz throws a quick inside leg kick. Case moves into the clinch successfully.
Diaz is trying to break the clinch but Case has him pressed against the cage. Case drops down looking for an ankle pick but Diaz pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Case shoots and misses and Diaz counters with a three punch combo that has Case backing up. Case nods at Diaz to acknowledge the strikes. Diaz scores with a crisp jab that stopped Case in his tracks. Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Case feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, Case changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Case is standing up over Diaz. Diaz looks to escape but Case dives into side control.
Case is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Diaz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Case looks up at the clock and then as Diaz takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Case smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Diaz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Case. Case tries for a kimura but Diaz is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Case looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Diaz is working to avoid the ground and pound but Case connects with a decent elbow. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Diaz can do anything to dispel that myth. Case is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Diaz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Case works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Case working the head with strikes. Case is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well. Case throwing strikes but Diaz manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Case sneaks back into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Case trying to hold on to Diaz's head to control him but Diaz postures up.
Case slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Diaz postures up.
Case is looking for a triangle but Diaz pushes his legs off easily.
Case lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Case drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Case jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcelino Case showed his dominance in that final round. I think Diaz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
