PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Mardle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and LeGros Calisse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Mardle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, LeGros Calisse!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mardle misses with a jab, cross combination.
Calisse throws a series of punches but Mardle moves out of range.
Mardle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mardle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mardle tries to clinch there but Calisse circles away.
Calisse shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mardle pinned against the cage. Mardle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Calisse defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mardle.

Calisse closes the distance and pushes Mardle back into the cage.
Calisse prevents Mardle from breaking the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Calisse gets control of Mardle's arms and successfully pulls guard. Calisse will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mardle wants to control from the top but Calisse keeps moving.
Calisse should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Mardle looking to sit in guard and control but Calisse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Calisse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Calisse throws a big right hand that misses.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Calisse is stalling in the full guard.

Calisse gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Nice sprawl there from Calisse as Mardle shoots in.

Mardle gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mardle is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Mardle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Calisse escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Calisse throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mardle's waist but Mardle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Calisse off to one side.
Calisse fails with a takedown attempt.
Mardle half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Mardle tries to clinch but Calisse moves out of range.

Calisse gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Mardle jumps guard but Calisse turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Calisse is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mardle gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Calisse breaks from the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mardle.
Calisse shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mardle but Mardle pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Calisse looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mardle fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Calisse avoids it really well and circles away.

Mardle has Calisse up against the cage in a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Calisse is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Mardle escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

LeGros Calisse dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mardle shoots for a takedown but Calisse saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mardle wants to clinch.
Calisse looks for a takedown but Mardle sprawls well.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Calisse.
Calisse moves out of range of the body kick from Mardle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Calisse counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Mardle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Calisse connects with a superb combination that knocks Mardle out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Calisse before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Mardle!
