Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Poulain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Moffatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Moffatt's choice of entrance music: Run This Town. Curtis Moffatt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Poulain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Moffatt! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moffatt throws a series of punches but Poulain moves out of range. Poulain feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Poulain won't allow Moffatt to get back to his feet. Moffatt has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Poulain off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Moffatt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Poulain circles away. Poulain feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Poulain trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Poulain is working hard here to advance position. Poulain is working Moffatt over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poulain stays in close to Moffatt's body and controls the position. Poulain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moffatt swivels though and keeps the full guard. Moffatt wants to sweep here but Poulain controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poulain has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Moffatt is proving hard to escape from. Moffatt scrambles and gets back to his feet.

David Poulain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Poulain is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Poulain tries to clinch up. Poulain misses with a body kick. Poulain tries to clinch up but Moffatt circles away and keeps his distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Moffatt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Poulain looks for a takedown but Moffatt sprawls well. Poulain is breathing heavily. Moffatt stuffs the takedown attempt from Poulain. Poulain gets slowly back to his feet. Moffatt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Moffatt throws a series of punches but Poulain avoids them all with ease. Moffatt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Poulain moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A punch combination from Moffatt misses. Poulain forces Moffatt back against the cage and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Poulain - that landed with a thud.
Poulain manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Moffatt decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. The fight stays on the outside here - Moffatt looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Moffatt works over Poulain's head and body with a nice combination. Poulain fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Poulain. That's going to take a lot out of him. Moffatt swats away the attempt to clinch by Poulain. Moffatt throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Poulain.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moffatt throws a right and a left that both miss. Moffatt throws a series of punches but Poulain moves out of range. Poulain darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Poulain decides to return to a standing position. Poulain has taken the fight to the clinch.
Poulain manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Moffatt is fighting to break Poulain's control of his arms but Poulain is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Moffatt slips nicely into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moffatt moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Moffatt shoots and misses and Poulain counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Moffatt thinking. Poulain closes the distance and clinches. Poulain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Poulain closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Poulain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moffatt keeps working. Moffatt makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Moffatt. Poulain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moffatt swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poulain wants to control from the top but Moffatt keeps moving. Moffatt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Poulain's guard. Moffatt stands up from guard. Let's bang! Moffatt swinging wilding here.
Poulain tries for a takedown but Moffatt sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Moffatt throws a combination that misses and Poulain counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Moffatt! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moffatt is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poulain can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Moffatt is looking to escape. Poulain unloads with some shots from mount but Moffatt bucks and avoids them well.
Moffatt tries to reverse the position but Poulain maintains control. Moffatt gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poulain seems to be looking for submissions.
Moffatt is looking to escape. Moffatt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Poulain prevents Moffatt from getting back to his feet. Moffatt tries to land a sweep but no joy. Poulain looking to pass the guard. Moffatt wants to hit a switch here but Poulain passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Moffatt there! Poulain lands a heavy elbow.

Moffatt in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Moffatt is looking to improve his position but Poulain isn't that keen on the idea. Poulain looking to control but Moffatt is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Poulain is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Moffatt has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Poulain throws a sloppy head kick and Moffatt moves out of range easily. Moffatt dips to his left and cracks Poulain with an uppercut! Poulain takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Poulain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Moffatt pinned against the cage. Moffatt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Poulain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moffatt as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moffatt throws a right and a left that both miss. Poulain swats away the attempt to clinch by Moffatt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Moffatt. Moffatt steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Poulain. That one must have hurt. Moffatt lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Poulain has closed the distance and engaged Moffatt in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Moffatt misses with a few strikes there.

Poulain prevents Moffatt from breaking the clinch. Poulain breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Poulain throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Poulain scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. David Poulain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Moffatt throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Moffatt tries to close the distance and clinch but Poulain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Some wild striking there from Poulain.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moffatt wants to clinch and Poulain counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Poulain is working for a submission of some sort.
Moffatt is staying active underneath Poulain, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Moffatt gets full guard. Moffatt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Poulain is controlling him. Moffatt is trying to control the position but Poulain postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Poulain stopping the sweep attempt from Moffatt. Moffatt manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Poulain manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! David Poulain showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Poulain, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
