Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ramon Rocha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, tj Dillashaw! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rocha throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dillashaw was covering up waiting for the punch and Rocha finishes the takedown easily into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rocha is working Dillashaw over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Rocha throwing strikes but missing. Dillashaw throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dillashaw keeping moving, preventing Rocha from controlling successfully. Rocha throws a big elbow that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rocha accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dillashaw trying to keep a closed guard but Rocha is proving a slippery customer.
Dillashaw is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rocha defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocha wants to stand but Dillashaw is controlling his posture from full guard. Rocha throws a big right hand that misses. Rocha missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dillashaw wants to sweep but no luck. Rocha is looking to work some ground and pound but Dillashaw has wrist control. Rocha working some strikes from top position. Rocha lands a couple of elbows. Rocha throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dillashaw works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rocha trying to control the position from guard on top but Dillashaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dillashaw not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Dillashaw decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Rocha is looking to improve his position.
Rocha is working hard here to advance position. Rocha is looking to escape. Dillashaw lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Dillashaw is looking to advance position but Rocha won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocha has one foot on Dillashaw's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Rocha tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dillashaw has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Dillashaw rushes Rocha and presses him up against the cage. Rocha is trying to pull guard but Dillashaw turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dillashaw takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Rocha being controlled against the cage. Rocha stalling in the clinch but Dillashaw improves position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rocha pressing his opponent against the cage. Rocha tries to pull guard but Dillashaw forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Rocha stalls. Dillashaw has Rocha pushed against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rocha drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dillashaw pulls his leg out and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dillashaw feints and as Rocha raises his hands in defense, Dillashaw changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rocha wants to stand and escape but Dillashaw is having none of it. Rocha throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Rocha is adopting a defensive guard. Rocha is looking to stand up but Dillashaw isn't so interested in that idea. Rocha throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Ramon Rocha overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rocha wants to stand but Dillashaw is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocha wants to sweep but no luck. Rocha controls Dillashaw momentarily but Dillashaw frees himself. Dillashaw with a nice head shot there. Rocha looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dillashaw distracts Rocha with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Rocha controls Dillashaw momentarily but Dillashaw frees himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dillashaw works over Rocha with some ground and pound from guard. Rocha will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dillashaw lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Rocha is rocked!
It looks like Ramon Rocha has been cut. Dillashaw postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Rocha covers up, he's hurt! Dillashaw keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Dillashaw and the ref steps in to end the fight! Dillashaw can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). tj Dillashaw! After winning the bout, tj Dillashaw thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
