The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood tries to clinch up. Wood moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Petrenko goes down! Can Wood finish him!?
Petrenko is rocked!
It looks like Uri Petrenko has been cut. Petrenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wood is one step ahead there. Petrenko is still in real trouble! Can Wood finish him? Petrenko wants to improve his position but instead Wood has moved into half guard.
Petrenko seems to have recovered his senses. Petrenko manages to get to full guard.

Petrenko can't keep his opponent in guard - Wood advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Wood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Petrenko on the ground. Petrenko wants to sweep but Wood has passed to side control! Petrenko is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Wood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Petrenko keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petrenko is trying to improve his position. Wood thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Petrenko is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Wood goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Petrenko has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wood but great work by Petrenko. Petrenko working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Petrenko swings around for an armbar but Wood sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Petrenko's guard. Petrenko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Wood moves into full guard.

Wood is trying to stand up here but Petrenko is controlling him well. Wood tries to roll over but Petrenko keeps him under control. The fighters are battling for position here. Wood manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Petrenko wants to stand and escape but instead Wood has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Petrenko lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wood! Wood is looking to get to half guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Petrenko is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wood has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wood! Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but Petrenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
