Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Kulik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jackjan Tio!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tio scores with a takedown into Kulik's guard.
Kulik might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kulik is on top in guard.
Tio controls Kulik momentarily but Kulik frees himself.
Kulik wants to pass the guard but Tio is keeping the position.
Kulik is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kulik doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kulik manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kulik postures up in Tio's guard and throws a big left but Tio blocks it.
Kulik looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kulik trying to control but Tio is working from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kulik is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Tio working for a triangle but Kulik defends it easily.
Kulik content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Tio has locked up a guillotine! Tio's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Kulik is holding on here and Tio must be using up a lot of energy. Kulik has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Tio gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
