Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fractured But Whole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock The Beast! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Beast lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The Beast throws a series of punches but But Whole avoids them all with ease. But Whole misses with a kick to the body and The Beast counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by The Beast. The Beast trying to control but But Whole is working from the bottom. But Whole is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Beast not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. But Whole is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Beast makes his way to full guard. A much better position for The Beast. The Beast with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing But Whole can't handle though.
That's one minute gone in the round. But Whole tries to free his leg and advance position but The Beast is retaining full guard. But Whole trying to control but The Beast is working from the bottom. The Beast pushes But Whole off and gets back to his feet.
But Whole's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and But Whole duly obliges. But Whole throws a series of strikes that have The Beast backpedaling.
That has opened up Brock The Beast's cut even more. But Whole throws a combination that misses and The Beast counters with a shoot takedown. But Whole fights it but they end up in guard. But Whole is wriggling around but The Beast manages to pass to half guard.
But Whole is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The Beast sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that The Beast has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The Beast takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The Beast wants to pass the guard but But Whole is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Beast winds up and cracks But Whole with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The Beast is controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Beast missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The Beast trying to control the pace. But Whole tries to kick The Beast off but The Beast keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The Beast passes to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. But Whole tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but The Beast presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! The Beast takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The Beast wants to finish this one by submission but But Whole is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from The Beast. The Beast trying to control but he's not successful this time. The Beast has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of But Whole's face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brock The Beast dominated that round. The cut man is working on Brock The Beast's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The Beast manages to get an easy takedown there - catching But Whole on his heels. He'll look to pass But Whole's guard now, I'm sure. But Whole is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. The Beast presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. The Beast is struggling to control the position. But Whole goes for a takedown in the clinch but The Beast prevents it.
But Whole doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Beast taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
But Whole is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from The Beast. But Whole is trying to break the clinch but The Beast is controlling him. But Whole wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
The Beast's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. But Whole is looking to take this fight into the clinch. But Whole misses with a few strikes there.
But Whole swings for the body but The Beast moves out of range.
As But Whole backs off The Beast throws a huge counter combo but But Whole manages to avoid it all. But Whole changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. A combination from But Whole does no damage. The Beast counters with a body kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The Beast darts in and clinches But Whole up against the cage. The Beast manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. But Whole throws a series of punches but The Beast avoids them all with ease. The Beast closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. But Whole did well to prevent The Beast getting side control. But Whole manages to escape and get back to his feet! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! But Whole throws a series of strikes that have The Beast backpedaling.
Fractured But Whole is winning the standup battle so far. But Whole throws a leg kick and The Beast decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in But Whole's guard. But Whole is looking to stand back up but The Beast counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by But Whole. The Beast moves into full mount! But Whole won't be happy about that! The Beast looking to control but But Whole is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. But Whole is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. The Beast locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! But Whole is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Brock The Beast! A very excited looking Brock The Beast made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
