Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeah La! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kedze Man! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Man tries to clinch but fails miserably and La counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Man! Man is trying to control La's posture but La avoids it. La wants to control but Man is keeping him busy. Man is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. La lands a decent elbow from side control. Man is looking for a sweep. Man can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. La lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Man down.
That's one minute gone in the round. La tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. La in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. You can see the frustration on Man's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Man taking a bit of punishment here - La scoring with strikes. Man manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. La content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. La passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Man! La raining down hammerfists from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. La working Man over with strikes here. La lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. La looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. La lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Man hang on? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! La trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. La is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Man can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
La wants to control the pace but Man is squirming around nicely. Man is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man gets back to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. La lands a nice short elbow. Man tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. La is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Man defends it well. Man regains full guard. Nicely done. La tries to free his leg and advance position but Man is retaining full guard. Man controlling the position. La controls from within his opponent's guard. La postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Man wants to sweep but no luck. Man looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. La thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Man wants to sweep but no luck. Man keeping moving, preventing La from controlling successfully. La wants to pass the guard but Man is keeping the position. Man had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. La defends it easily. La lands a couple of decent looking shots. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. La pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Man is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeah La dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Man works the jab nicely. No luck for Man with that takedown attempt. Man fails to land the takedown. La is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Man can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Man throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
La appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Man throws a lazy head kick and La decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Man's guard. La working some strikes from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. La landing some decent shots from guard. La with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Man is breathing heavily. La lands a couple of decent looking shots. La is in close to Man's body, working some short punches and elbows. Man keeping moving, preventing La from controlling successfully. La drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Man manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now La has Man in his guard. La keeping full guard, as Man tries to pass. La is controlling Man's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Man trying to control the position from guard on top but La is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. La wants to sweep here but Man controlling him for the moment. La trying to control the position here. La has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. La wants to sweep but no luck. La has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Man has passed into side control.
La knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Man on the ground. La tries to get back to half guard but can't. La can't do much from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Man decides to take the fight back to the feet. La blocks the body kick.
Man tries to clinch but La moves away and La counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. La lands with a punch from half guard. La is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Man wants to get back to full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. La is nestled in close to Man, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. La is thwarting Man's attempts to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Man fails with a takedown attempt. Man shoots in and drives through. La sprawls well. La drops down looking for a counter takedown but Man sprawls and moves away. Man has his takedown stuffed and La counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jeah La has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kedze Man. Man looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Man takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. La content to control rather than advance. La looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Man is looking to control La's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Man avoid being mounted? The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. La lands a nice short elbow. La winds up and cracks Man with a swinging punch to the side of the head. La wants to work for an arm triangle but Man is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
La slips a nice elbow through Man's hands, connecting with Man's forehead. La is trying to work for a kimura but Man is defending well.
La tries to pass to full mount but Man defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. La is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. La is looking to take a break and control but Man is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. La is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Man defends it well. La wants to take a breather but Man is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man tries to roll over but La keeps him under control. Man taking some punishment here, with La in his half guard. La drops an elbow to the side of Man's head. La lands strikes from half guard. Man has hold of La's hands but La slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. La working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. La tries to pass to full mount but Man defends it. Man is trying to defend against the ground and pound but La scores with a couple of nice shots. La prevents Man from improving his position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jeah La is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. La is pressing down on Man's thigh, looking to free his foot. Man is holding on for now. La landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Man on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. La is looking for a kimura but Man is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for La to get the leverage. La not doing much here.
La is working for a submission of some sort.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Man looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jeah La showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for La, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
