The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Del Rio feints and then cracks Gilliam's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gilliam down.
Gilliam shoots in looking for a takedown. Del Rio tries to sprawl out of it but Gilliam keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Del Rio manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Del Rio is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gilliam.
Del Rio lands with a good body shot.
Del Rio closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gilliam's guard.
Gilliam is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gilliam wants to stand but Del Rio is controlling the position.

Del Rio told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Del Rio tightens his grip and picks Gilliam up, before dumping him to the ground. Gilliam manages to land in guard.
Gilliam is working an open guard so Del Rio takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Del Rio shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Del Rio was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gilliam is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Del Rio is controlling him well.
Gilliam can't do much from the bottom here.

Gilliam has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Del Rio avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gilliam jumps guard but Del Rio stands there with Gilliam around his waist. Gilliam gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Del Rio closes the distance and pushes Gilliam back into the cage.
Del Rio has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gilliam is trying to keep an underhook but Del Rio manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Gilliam has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Del Rio is on him like a limpet, forcing Gilliam back against the cage.
Gilliam tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Gilliam misses with a takedown attempt - Del Rio sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Del Rio misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Gilliam is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Del Rio.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rudolph Gilliam will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As Del Rio looks to move away, Gilliam throws a big counter combo but Del Rio just gets out of the way.

Rudolph Gilliam overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Del Rio is wriggling around but Gilliam manages to pass to half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
