Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Bone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Malenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bone comes to the cage accompanied by You'll Never Walk Alone. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Malenko!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bone lands a really nice looking cross but Malenko seems unphased.
Bone takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A big right from Malenko misses.
Malenko just misses with a punch to the body.
Bone fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bone throws a big shot that misses.
Bone throws a shot from downtown. Malenko moves away and avoids it.
Bone lands the left hand.
Bone throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bone throws a hook but Malenko blocks it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Malenko! But no joy.

Malenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Malenko is taking a breather. Bone says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bone has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Malenko is working away from the top position though.

Horrible takedown attempt by Bone or perhaps it was just good defense by Malenko, which made it look bad.

It looked like Bone wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Bone throws a head kick that Malenko semi-blocks.
Bone throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Malenko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The fighters circling - Bone throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Malenko swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've been informed that Malenko has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Malenko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ray Malenko will probably get the nod.
That's time! Bone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bone throws a jab when Malenko was well out of range.
Malenko bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bone's head backwards.
Some wild striking there from Malenko.

Bone decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Malenko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bone's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bone's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malenko controlling the position well here. Bone rolled but Malenko kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Bone is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Malenko gets his way!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Malenko controlling the positon.

Malenko has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Bone has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Bone postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Malenko is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bone, into his guard.

Bone is looking to sweep but instead, Malenko has passed into half guard.
Joe Bone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Malenko frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bone is squirming around, avoiding Malenko's attempts to control the action.
Bone keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bone is controlling an arm, preventing Malenko from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Malenko controlling his opponent.
Bone tries to control the position but Malenko now has his back.
Ray Malenko is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Malenko is not going to allow Bone to sit and survive in this position.
Bone tries to escape but Malenko has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

What can Bone do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Bone won't enjoy being in this position. Malenko looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Bone is tapping - it's over boys! Malenko picks up the submission victory!
