Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximo Meridio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Maximo Meridio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meridio slips a jab from Doe.
Doe throws a jab when Meridio was well out of range.
Doe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Doe waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Meridio.
Doe lands a head shot.


It looks like Maximo Meridio has been cut.
Meridio avoids the body shot from Doe.
Meridio ducks under a wild hook from Doe.
A combination from Doe does no damage.
Meridio dodges the punch combination from Doe.
Doe looks to land a left hand but Meridio moved out of range nicely.

Meridio looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Doe is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Meridio tries to free his leg and advance position but Doe is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Meridio stops Doe from standing up.
Doe is wriggling around but Meridio manages to pass to half guard.

Meridio is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Meridio looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Doe tries to kick Meridio off but Meridio keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Doe is trying to escape back to his feet but Meridio uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Doe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meridio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Meridio prevents Doe from escaping the position.
Doe looks gassed!
Meridio works to advance to full mount. Doe defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Meridio has hold of Doe's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Doe manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Doe stops Meridio from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Doe is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Doe is trying to stand but he's just given Meridio his back.

Meridio working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Doe is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Meridio has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Doe taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Maximo Meridio!
