Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ken Kahne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akiro Sata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sata has chosen Onward to Victory! as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Kahne! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akiro Sata! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kahne swats away the attempt to clinch by Sata. Sata paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Sata missing with a left hand there. Kahne was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Sata moves out of range of the strikes. Sata has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sata there as he acknowledges the shot. Sata throws a big shot that misses. Sata scores with a decent looking hook. Sata misses with the combination.
Kahne half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab from Sata misses. Kahne closes the distance and clinches up with Sata, looking for a takedown. Kahne pushes Sata against the cage but Sata circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sata throws a right and a left that both miss. A combination from Sata does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A slow jab from Kahne misses its intended target. A nice side step and Sata releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Sata misses with a wild body shot. Sata misses with a hook. Kahne ducked under it nicely. Sata misses the jab. Kahne appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Sata misses the jab. Kahne throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sata sees it coming and avoids it easily. Sata appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Kahne dives in and scores a takedown into Sata's guard. Sata is trying to keep Kahne in close.

Kahne throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sata escapes and throws Kahne's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Kahne takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kahne is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Sata keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Sata clinches up with Kahne and pushes him back against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Kahne. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kahne. Kahne works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Sata not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Sata is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Kahne is staying active. Kahne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sata keeps working. Sata gets full guard. Kahne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sata swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sata is looking for a triangle but Kahne pushes his legs off easily.

Sata knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are battling for position here. Sata manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Kahne misses with a hook to the body
and Sata connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kahne uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sata.
Sata ducks under a wild hook from Kahne. Sata bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Sata scores with a three punch combo!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sata tries to clinch but Kahne moves out of range. Kahne looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Akiro Sata seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sata shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kahne pinned against the cage. Kahne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sata misses with a body shot.
Sata shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kahne's guard. Kahne wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Sata throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kahne works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kahne wants to sweep here but Sata controlling him for the moment. Sata keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kahne wants to improve his position but Sata is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sata lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Sata drops an elbow to the side of Kahne's head. Sata working the head and body with strikes. Kahne tries to roll over but Sata keeps him under control. Sata takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kahne keeping control of the position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sata lands a nice short elbow. Kahne is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sata's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sata's back!

A close third round but Akiro Sata just about did enough to take it. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sata stalling. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sata connects with a nice short shot to Kahne's temple. A little jabbing left from Sata on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Sata smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Horrible takedown attempt by Sata or perhaps it was just good defense by Kahne, which made it look bad. Kahne looks for a takedown but Sata sprawls well. Sata scores with a body shot.

Sata is aware though and is defending well. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. And that's the end of the fight! Akiro Sata comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sata has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
