Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon comes to the cage accompanied by All Summer Long. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandon ducks right into an uppercut from Thompson.
Brandon connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Brandon throws a quick inside leg kick.
Brandon closes the distance and clinches up with Thompson, looking for a takedown. Brandon pushes Thompson against the cage but Thompson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thompson misses with a body kick.
Brandon appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Thompson thows a body kick. Brandon tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Brandon fails to land the takedown.
Thompson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Horrible takedown attempt by Brandon or perhaps it was just good defense by Thompson, which made it look bad.
Buddy Brandon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brandon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thompson sees it coming and defends easily.
Brandon has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Brandon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Thompson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Thompson and Brandon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Buddy Brandon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Thompson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Brandon has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Thompson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Brandon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thompson pinned against the cage. Thompson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brandon shoots in for a double leg but Thompson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Brandon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Brandon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

John Thompson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Thompson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, John Thompson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
