Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fredrik Rienfeldt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Serra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fredrik Rienfeldt!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rienfeldt tests Serra's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Serra tries to clinch there but Rienfeldt circles away.
Serra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rienfeldt.
Serra misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rienfeldt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rienfeldt looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rienfeldt lands with a cross.


It looks like Matt Serra has been cut.
Rienfeldt lands a jab to the nose.
Serra has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Serra there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rienfeldt lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Serra closes the distance and clinches up with Rienfeldt, looking for a takedown. Serra pushes Rienfeldt against the cage but Rienfeldt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rienfeldt feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Serras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rienfeldt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rienfeldt throws a body shot but no joy.
Rienfeldt lands a jab to the nose.
Rienfeldt sizes up Serra with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Serra closes the distance and clinches up with Rienfeldt, looking for a takedown. Serra pushes Rienfeldt against the cage but Rienfeldt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Serra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rienfeldt feints a jab promting Serra to slip. Rienfeldt then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Serra slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Rienfeldt connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Serra shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rienfeldt pinned against the cage. Rienfeldt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rienfeldt connects with a single shot there.
Serra shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rienfeldt sprawls well. Rienfeldt wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Serra gets slowly back to his feet.

Rienfeldt gets caught flat footed, as Serra shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rienfeldt looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rienfeldt keeping moving, preventing Serra from controlling successfully.
Rienfeldt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Serra. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Serra stopping the sweep attempt from Rienfeldt.

Rienfeldt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Serra is working Rienfeldt over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Serra stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Serra lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Serra.
Serra drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Rienfeldt blocks a head kick by Serra.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rienfeldt! But no joy.
Rienfeldt getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rienfeldt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Serra.
Rienfeldt feints a jab promting Serra to slip. Rienfeldt then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Serra slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Rienfeldt is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Serra had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Serra dives in and scores a takedown into Rienfeldt's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rienfeldt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rienfeldt holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rienfeldt has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Serra has passed into side control.
Serra has control of an arm but Rienfeldt manages to advance to Serra's back!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Matt Serra's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Rienfeldt lands an overhand right.
Serra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rienfeldt's waist but Rienfeldt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Serra off to one side.
Serra tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rienfeldt swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rienfeldt misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Serra.
Rienfeldt avoids the head kick by Serra.
Rienfeldt cracks Serra with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rienfeldt has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A left lands for Rienfeldt.
Rienfeldt lands a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Serra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rienfeldt as he avoids it easily.
Serra closes the distance and clinches up with Rienfeldt, looking for a takedown. Serra pushes Rienfeldt against the cage but Rienfeldt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Rienfeldt lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rienfeldt might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Rienfeldt lands with an uppercut that bounces Serra off the cage and back into range.


Serra is rocked!
Rienfeldt leaves Serra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rienfeldt is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Rienfeldt clobbers Serra with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Serra fails to land the takedown.
Serra is looking to clinch.
Jab, jab by Rienfeldt - just one landing.
Rienfeldt displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Rienfeldt fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Fredrik Rienfeldt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Serra takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rienfeldt lands with a cross.
Oh Serra is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Serra tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rienfeldt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rienfeldt looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Serra seems to have got his legs back now.

Rienfeldt blocks a head kick by Serra.
Serra moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Rienfeldt scores with a jab to the head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rienfeldt, as that shot connected.
Rienfeldt drops Serra with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Serra! Rienfeldt dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fredrik Rienfeldt!
