PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Del Toro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Del Toro kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bliss. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 15 - 2, fighting out of New York, Ernesto Del Toro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Koch!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koch lands a nice looking kick to the body. Del Toro takes a step back to recover.
Del Toro misses with a leg kick.

Koch gets a clinch.
Koch throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Del Toros head.
A short right from Koch.
Koch goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Koch tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Koch lands a body punch in the clinch.
Koch stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Koch.
Koch misses with a hook from the clinch.
Del Toro doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Del Toro tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Koch goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Koch swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Del Toro has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Koch clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Koch really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Del Toro's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.
Del Toro wants to control the position but Koch frees himself and scrambles - Del Toro manages to regain control in side control.

Del Toro remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Del Toro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Koch keeps working.
Koch can't do much from the bottom here.
Del Toro throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Del Toro creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Koch sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Del Toro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Koch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Koch is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Koch is working to avoid the ground and pound but Del Toro connects with a decent elbow.
Del Toro tries to move to mount but Koch blocks the move with his legs.

Del Toro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Koch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Del Toro looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Koch is avoiding damage well.
Del Toro advances to full mount.
Del Toro misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Koch is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Koch is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Del Toro is staying active.

Koch wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Del Toro.
Del Toro throws some wild stikes that Koch manages to avoid easily.
Del Toro sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Koch wants to hold on but Del Toro pushes him away.
Koch holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Del Toro tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Del Toro controlling the pace for now.
Del Toro connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Koch is in all sorts of trouble here.
Koch is still trying to improve position.
Koch takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Del Toro tries to control but Koch wriggling away.

Koch is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Koch is bucking up trying to escape but Del Toro cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Del Toro goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Koch is on top in guard.
Del Toro tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Koch must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.

Del Toro working for submissions but it's allowed Koch to get to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Del Toro is looking to improve his position.
Koch wants to free his trapped foot but Del Toro is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Del Toro keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Del Toro moves into full guard.
Del Toro looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Del Toro throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Koch escapes and throws Del Toro's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Del Toro tries to bench press Koch off him but Koch keeps the position.
Koch advances nicely into full mount.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Del Toro regains half guard.
Del Toro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Del Toro moves into full guard.

Koch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Del Toro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Koch has managed to get both his arms back between Del Toro's legs - danger averted.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ernesto Del Toro showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Del Toro has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
