Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
21 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nuke Laloosh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Unz Unz!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laloosh shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Laloosh moves into the clinch successfully.
Unz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Laloosh smiles and moves away.
Laloosh connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Unz Unz has been cut.
Unz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Laloosh throws an off balance right hand
and Unz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Laloosh won't be happy with that.
Laloosh is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Unz off and has taken his back!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Laloosh looking for the RNC.
We've been hearing good reports from Laloosh's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
You can see the frustration on Unz's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Unz is still trying to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Laloosh doesn't have the hooks in and Unz manages to turn into his guard.
Unz being controlled here momentarily.
Laloosh continues to stall.
Laloosh keeping full guard, as Unz tries to pass.
Unz postures up.
Unz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laloosh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Unz keeps trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Laloosh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Unz drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Unz seems to have locked his on tight now - Laloosh screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Unz, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Unz Unz!
