Toern might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Spana kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round but I would say that Lorick Spana will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Spana changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Toern looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

You can see the frustration on Toern's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Toern pushes Spana away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Spana gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Spana wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Toern, who protects the arm well.
Toern is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Spana has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Spana has hold of Toern's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Toern tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Spana cranks the arm and Toern screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Toern, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
