Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myles Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Lucas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Myles Dawson!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Darius Henderson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas with a poor takedown
and Dawson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dawson shoots in and drives through. Lucas sprawls well.
Lucas dives in and grabs Dawson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dawson pushes down on Lucas's head and hops out.
Lucas tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dawson defends well and Lucas ends up having to push Dawson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dawson is looking for the big counter here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Lucas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lucas closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dawson to the mat! Dawson manages to get full guard.

Lucas shoots in looking for a takedown but Dawson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lucas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lucas definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Dawson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Lucas is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Lucas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dawson tries to avoid it but Lucas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dawson to the ground. Dawson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dawson feints a jab promting Lucas to slip. Dawson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lucas slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Dawson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lucas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lucas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lucas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lucas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lucas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lucas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dawson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Dawson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lucas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

An elbow from Lucas crashes against the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dawson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lucas has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Lucas has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Dawson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Lucas yanks on the arm and Dawson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Lucas.
