The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hood tries to clinch but Lawton moves away
and Lawton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lawton lands a nice shot to the body.
Hood shoots in looking for a takedown. Lawton tries to sprawl out of it but Hood keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lawton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hood doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lawton counters with a three punch combo that has Hood backing up. Hood nods at Lawton to acknowledge the strikes.
Lawton lunges at Hood with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hood's hand.
Hood takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A low kick from Hood misses
and Lawton counters with a straight right hand.
Hood has his takedown stuffed
and Lawton counters with a straight right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cen Hood. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A jab from Lawton finds it's way through Hood's defenses.

Hood is rocked!
Lawton lands a jab to the head.
Oh Hood is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lawton throws a shot to the body.
Hood seems to have got his legs back now.
Cen Hood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lawton sends Hood crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Lawton is motioning to the referee to let Hood up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Hood swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lawton counters with a nice body shot.
Lawton throws a monster overhand right that drops Hood! Lawton follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
