Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michel Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pupan Zod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pupan Zod told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zod drives through with a takedown into Howard's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Howard wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Zod manages to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zod throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Zod is looking for a kimura here.
Howard wants to improve his position but Zod is controlling well.
Howard is trying to maintain the position but Zod is very close to passing his half guard.
Howard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Zod's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Zod's back!

Howard doesn't have the hooks in and Zod manages to turn into his guard.

Howard looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Zod passes into side control.
Zod has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Zod decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Howard wants to get back to full guard but Zod has mounted him!
Zod has control of Howard's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Howard regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Zod is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Howard has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Zod is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Zod throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Howard because Zod loaded up on that one.
