The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hathaway tries to clinch but Machida is having none of it.
Hathaway fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Machida tries to bum rush Hathaway with a series of wild strikes but Hathaway uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Machida throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hathaway counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Jon Machida has been cut.
Hathaway connects with an inside leg kick.
Hathaway is looking to slow Machida down with leg kicks.
Hathaway moves into the clinch.
Hathaway blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Machida lands a shoulder strike.
Machida is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hathaway is keeping busy.

Machida throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Machida gets tackled into the cage by Hathaway. Hathaway maintains the clinch.

Hathaway lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Machida is rocked!
Hathaway dips a shoulder and cracks Machida with a mighty uppercut! Machida falls back against the cage and Hathaway unloads with a barrage of strikes! Machida is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Hathaway screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
