Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Winston Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bary Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Winston Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bary Allen! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Allen ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hughes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Allen was well out of range. Poor timing from Hughes. Hughes throws a half hearted mid kick. Allen let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Hughes scores with a decent looking hook. Allen fails with a takedown attempt. It appears Hughes was looking to counter with a kick there. Hughes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Allen can pounce on him.
Allen misses with a hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice inside leg kick there by Hughes. That's going to slow Allen down. A looping hook to the body misses from Hughes. Allen does a little dance to reset his feet. Hughes swings for the body but Allen moves out of range.
Allen looks to throw a body kick and Hughes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hughes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Allen looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Allen scores with a nice right hand.
Allen gets off balance looking for a body kick and Hughes counters with a thumping low kick. Both fighters circling a little - Allen finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Allen looks to land a right hand but Hughes moved out of range. Hughes throws a leg kick and Allen counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Allen stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Allen lands with a light punch inside. Hughes blocks a body shot from Allen. Allen digs a right hand into Hughes's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hughes's gas tank. Allen lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hughes backwards. A body shot lands from Hughes.

We've been told by Hughes's head coaches at Blackthorn that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Hughes throws a solid leg kick but Allen takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hughes. Hughes throws a leg kick but Allen checks it. Allen throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hughes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Allen throws a looping overhand right but Hughes ducks down to avoid it. Hughes misses the shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes tries a low kick but Allen avoids it. Nice body kick there by Allen. Allen staying out of range there. Hughes staying out of range there. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Hughes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Allen blocks the body kick.

and Hughes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hughes pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Allen is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Allen throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hughes counters with a straight right hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Allen avoids the head kick by Hughes.

Allen dips to his left and cracks Hughes with an uppercut! Allen looks to throw the jab but Hughes is out of range. Hughes lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Hughes throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Hughes throws the kick towards the body but Allen avoids it. Allen misses with an uppercut. Allen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hughes manages to avoid it. Hughes connects with a crisp jab. Allen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hughes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Allen was well out of range. Poor timing from Hughes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Winston Hughes will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Allen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Allen sizes up Hughes with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Hughes blocks a head kick by Allen.
Jab, jab by Allen - just one landing. Hughes lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Allen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hughes.
Allen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Hughes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Allen's calf. Hughes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Bary Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Allen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hughes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Allen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
An attempted straight right counter from Hughes misses the target. Allen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Hughes swings away with a leg kick that misses. Allen connects with a nice looking jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Allen throws a looping overhand right but Hughes ducks down to avoid it. Bary Allen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Allen throws the left hand but Hughes avoids the punch easily. Allen jabs Hughes right on the nose. Hughes blinks but takes it well. Allen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Allen moves out of range of the body kick. Allen looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Allen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Allen has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hughes. Hughes takes one to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Allen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hughes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Allen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hughes's head backwards. Hughes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Allen. Allen obviously looking to wear him down.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hughes. Allen works the jab nicely. Allen takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Allen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Allen lands a slapping body shot.
Hughes throws a push kick but Allen slaps the foot to one side. Hughes ducks under a wild hook from Allen. Hughes went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hughes swings away with a leg kick that misses. Hughes backing away here, and Allen unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Hughes throws a body shot but no joy. A low kick from Hughes misses and Allen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Allen takes a swing at Hughes's ribcage but misses. Allen throws a leg kick which misses Hughes's front leg but catches the back leg as Hughes tries to avoid it. Jab from Hughes. Allen avoids a kick to the body.

Hughes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Allen's hands. Allen fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Allen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hughes manages to avoid it. Hughes misses with a leg kick. Hughes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Allen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Allen throws a shot from downtown. Hughes moves away and avoids it. Hughes misses with a straight left. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Allen throws out a loose jab but Hughes uses good head movement to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bary Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Allen doesn't seem bothered though. Hughes lands a jab. Hughes misses with a wild body shot. Allen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hughes momentarily.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Allen lands a body punch in the clinch. Allen lands on the inside with an uppercut. Allen lands a body shot in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Allen lands with a right to the head. Allen tries to throw a body punch but Hughes avoids it by throwing Allen back against the cage. Allen turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Allen manages to end up in side control. Allen throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Allen tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Allen cracks Hughes with an elbow. That is naaassty. Allen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hughes some visible discomfort.
Allen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hughes sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Allen is looking to take a break and control but Hughes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hughes dodges the ground and pound from Allen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Allen throws a strike aimed at the side of Hughes's head but Hughes avoids it well. Hughes is not content to let Allen control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hughes tries to buck Allen off but Allen is having none of it. Hughes is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Allen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Allen with the ground and pound but Hughes uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hughes trying to keep a closed guard but Allen is proving a slippery customer.
Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Hughes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hughes takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. A head kick from Allen lands but Hughes takes it in his stride. Hughes avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Allen tries to clinch up but Hughes circles away and keeps his distance. Allen ducks right into an uppercut from Hughes.
And that's the end of the fight! Bary Allen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Allen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
