Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cao Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cao Hong! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hong.
Hong slips under a jab. Hong throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Tate feints and as Hong raises his hands in defense, Tate changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hong had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Tate is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hong Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Tate's back instead. Tate is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hong gets his way!

What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hong's shoulder. That is not cool.

Hong tries to bum rush Tate with a series of wild strikes but Tate uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hong throws a right and a left that both miss. Tate closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hong looking for a takedown. Tate breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hong looks to land a combination but Tate avoids it well. Cao Hong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tate moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Tate showed his dominance in that final round. Well Tate has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
