Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Olson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janica Sambotin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Olson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Janica Sambotin! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sambotin shoots in but no luck this time. Sambotin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Olson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. You can see the frustration on Olson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sambotin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sambotin working the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Olson holding on. Sambotin stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Olson as Sambotin shoots in. Sambotin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sambotin gets a clinch. Olson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sambotin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Olson has Sambotin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sambotin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Sambotin manages to pull guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sambotin seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Olson wants to stand but Sambotin is controlling his posture from full guard. Olson slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Sambotin.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sambotin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Olson's waist but Olson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sambotin off to one side. Joey Olson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janica Sambotin. Sambotin gets caught flat footed, as Olson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Sambotin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Olson manages to pass to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Olson thows a huge punch but Sambotin dodges it nicely.
Olson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sambotin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Olson is controlling the pace.
Sambotin is trying is best to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Janica Sambotin will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Now Olson has his back to the cage. Olson jumps guard but Sambotin stands there with Olson around his waist. Olson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sambotin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Olson just stands there and leans against the cage. Sambotin tries to circle away but Olson has him pinned against the cage. Olson jumps guard and drags Sambotin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Sambotin throwing strikes from guard but Olson blocks nicely. Olson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sambotin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Olson is on top in guard.
Olson wants to stand but Sambotin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Joey Olson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sambotin is looking to sweep but instead, Olson has passed into half guard.
Olson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sambotin sees it coming and defends easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Olson is thwarting Sambotin's attempts to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Olson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sambotin misses with a head kick.
Olson appears to be looking for a big counter. Horrible takedown attempt by Olson or perhaps it was just good defense by Sambotin, which made it look bad. Sambotin is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Olson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sambotin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sambotin clinches. Sambotin is trying to break free. Sambotin is trying to break free. Sambotin lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Sambotin jumps guard but Olson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Sambotin is leaning against Olson and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Olson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Horrible takedown attempt by Sambotin or perhaps it was just good defense by Olson, which made it look bad.
And that's the end of the fight! Janica Sambotin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Sambotin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
