Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ian Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bittor Xavier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xavier has chosen Jane's Addiction- Mountain Song as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ian Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
43 - 45 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bittor Xavier! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Xavier gets a takedown into half guard. Rogers has one foot on Xavier's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Xavier shoots in and bounces Rogers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rogers pushes Xavier off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. This has been an exciting period of action! Rogers throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Xavier scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogers is looking for a sweep. Xavier trying to control the action but Rogers is working from the bottom. Xavier tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rogers is trying to control Xavier's posture but Xavier avoids it. Xavier tries for a kimura but Rogers is defending well. Xavier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Xavier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Rogers tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rogers manages to work his way to half guard, despite Xavier's best efforts. Rogers actively working from the bottom here. Rogers wants to control but Xavier is keeping busy.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Xavier is looking for a kimura but Rogers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Xavier to get the leverage. Rogers keeping hold of Xavier's head, controlling as best he can. Xavier seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rogers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogers avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Xavier. Rogers is trying to stand up here but Xavier is controlling him well. Xavier is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rogers defends it well. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rogers is positioning himself well to prevent Xavier advancing to mount. Xavier passes to full mount! Xavier is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rogers can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rogers is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Rogers manages to regain half guard. Good work. Xavier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rogers sees it coming and defends easily. Rogers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Xavier can do to turn this around? Rogers is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Xavier's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Xavier's back! Rogers is not going to allow Xavier to sit and survive in this position. Rogers biding his time, controlling Xavier.

Rogers trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Xavier doesn't escape. Rogers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. You can see the frustration on Xavier's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Xavier is fighting to maintain full guard but Rogers has managed to sneak the leg through. Xavier tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rogers has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Rogers controlling from mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ian Rogers will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bittor Xavier's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
