Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hipolito Davidson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Legg! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davidson clinches up with Legg and pushes him back against the cage. Legg drags the fight down to the ground.
Legg is trying to keep Davidson in close.
Davidson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Davidson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Davidson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Davidson lands a couple of digs. Legg looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Davidson is looking to stand up but Legg won't let him. Davidson won't allow Legg to sweep him here. Davidson with a nice head shot there. Legg is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Legg can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Legg working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Davidson. Legg scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Davidson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davidson tries to clinch up. Legg slaps away a takedown attempt from Davidson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Davidson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Legg fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Davidson manages to avoid it. Legg forces Davidson back against the cage and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davidson is trying to break the clinch but Legg has him pressed against the cage. Legg is trying to trip Davidson. He has hold of a leg but Davidson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Legg persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Legg looks winded! Legg working some strikes from top position. Legg must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Davidson wants to sweep but no luck. Davidson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Legg avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Davidson. Legg has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Davidson is working away from the top position though. Davidson drops an elbow to the side of Legg's head. Davidson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Legg wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davidson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Legg has managed to free his arm - good work. Legg keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Davidson is trying to work for a kimura but Legg is defending well.
Davidson tries to stand and escape but Legg actually recovers to full guard. Davidson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davidson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Davidson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Davidson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Legg wants to sweep here but Davidson controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hipolito Davidson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Legg closes the distance and clinches. Davidson tries to break the clinch but Legg is controlling the position. Davidson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Legg can do to turn this around? A head punch on the inside from Davidson fails to land. Davidson lands with a short head shot on the inside. Davidson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Davidson. Davidson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Legg has him pressed against the cage. Legg breaks from the clinch.
Davidson is looking to clinch but Legg is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Legg changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davidson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Davidson is looking to reverse the position. Davidson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Davidson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Legg wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Legg advances nicely into full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davidson is desperately trying to improve his position but Legg has a good base and remains in mount. Legg goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Davidson turns into him and now he's in Legg's guard.
Legg has his hands on Davidson's head, controlling the position. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Davidson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Legg working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davidson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davidson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Legg is breathing heavily. Davidson postures up in Legg's guard and throws a big left but Legg blocks it. Davidson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Legg works some decent striking defense from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davidson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Davidson tries to stand but Legg is controlling from the bottom. Davidson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Legg, up you get! Legg closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Davidson to the mat! Davidson manages to get full guard. Hipolito Davidson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Davidson wants to get back to his feet but Legg is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davidson looking for a sweep. Not yet Davidson, not yet. Legg wants to get up but he can't break Davidson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Legg with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Davidson tries to strike from the bottom.
Legg postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Davidson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Legg wants to get back to full guard. Davidson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! That's four minutes gone in the round. Legg desperately trying to maintain half guard. Davidson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Legg's head. Davidson wants to stand but Legg has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Davidson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Legg defending well though. Legg is trying to maintain the position but Davidson is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Hipolito Davidson will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Legg tries to clinch but Davidson moves out of range. Legg throws a combination that misses and Davidson counters with a shoot takedown. Legg fights it but they end up in guard. Legg preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Davidson won't allow Legg to get back to his feet. Davidson works over Legg with some ground and pound from guard. Legg is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Davidson won't allow Legg to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davidson lands a couple of digs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Legg utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Davidson throws a big right hand that misses. Legg is looking to stand up but Davidson isn't so interested in that idea. Legg throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Legg wants to hit a switch here but Davidson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Legg there! Legg wants to control but Davidson is having none of it. Legg has left one of his arms exposed and Davidson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Legg screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
