Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kabuzo Uria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kabuzo Uria has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with James Gonzalez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kabuzo Uria!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzalez gets a double leg takedown into Uria's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You get the feeling that Gonzalez really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Uria shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gonzalez is trying to defend but Uria finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Uria has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Uria is just content to waste time from the top position. Gonzalez takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Uria tries to free his leg and advance position but Gonzalez is retaining full guard.
Uria wants to control from the top but Gonzalez keeps moving.

Uria stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gonzalez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Uria wants to pass the guard but Gonzalez is keeping the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Uria gets to his feet. Gonzalez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Uria throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gonzalez was covering up waiting for the punch and Uria finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gonzalez wriggles free and stands up.
Gonzalez moves in looking to clinch but Uria pushes him off.
Gonzalez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Uria is fending him off so far but Gonzalez persists. Nope, Uria circles away and we're back to standing.
Uria is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
A head kick misses from Uria.
No joy there for Gonzalez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Uria is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Gonzalez moves into the clinch.
Uria's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Gonzalez wants to sweep here but Uria controlling him for the moment.

Uria gets to his feet - Gonzalez follows without any prompting.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gonzalez throws a series of punches but Uria moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Kabuzo Uria will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Uria fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gonzalez to the ground. Uria is now in Gonzalez's guard.

Gonzalez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Uria is aware though and is defending well.

Gonzalez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Uria defends well.

Uria doesn't have the hooks in and Gonzalez manages to turn into his guard.
Uria wants to hit a switch here but Gonzalez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Uria there!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kabuzo Uria is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
