Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shirley Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Filipovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Filipovic will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipovic takes the fight into the clinch.
Filipovic lands a damaging elbow.

Higgins ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Higgins no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Filipovic won't allow Higgins to get back to his feet.

Filipovic seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Higgins sneaks out the side door and pushes Filipovic away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Filipovic throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Higgins gets tackled into the cage by Filipovic. Filipovic maintains the clinch.
Higgins tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Filipovic just stands there and leans against the cage.
Higgins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Filipovic decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Higgins kicks off Filipovic and gets to his feet.
Filipovic shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Higgins napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Filipovic stands up and beckons Higgins to his feet.

Filipovic throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Higgins.
Filipovic fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Higgins to the ground. Filipovic is now in Higgins's guard.
Filipovic wants to control from the top but Higgins keeps moving.
Higgins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Higgins is breathing heavily.

Filipovic is pressing down on Higgins's thigh, looking to free his foot. Higgins is holding on for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Higgins tries to bench press Filipovic off him but Filipovic keeps the position.

Filipovic postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Shirley Higgins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Higgins is pushing Filipovic's head away, looking to escape. Filipovic manages to hold on to the position though.
Filipovic is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Higgins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Filipovic is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Higgins's shoulder. That is not cool.

Higgins jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Filipovic manages to avoid the submission attempt.
