2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Raul Gutierrez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ken Shiro! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gutierrez swinging wildly here.
Shiro shoots in and drives through. Gutierrez sprawls well. Shiro shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A combination from Gutierrez does no damage. Shiro's coach down at Highland CT & Spar was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shiro's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Gutierrez throws a leg kick that misses. We've been told by Gutierrez's head coaches at The Bear's Den that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Sloppy strikes from Gutierrez. Those never looked like landing. Gutierrez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shiro circles away quickly and effectively.
