Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Beach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beach's entrance music is Amazing. A fine choice. Cody Beach has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cody Beach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Silva! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beach looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well. Silva clinches. Beach fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Beach stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cody Beach. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beach is working for takedown but Silva is calmly controlling the position for now. Silva has Beach pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Silva pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Beach tumbling to the mat - Silva dives into Beach's guard. Beach is pulling down on Silva's head. It's preventing any offense from Silva, at least for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beach not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Silva throwing strikes but missing. Silva trying to control but Beach is working from the bottom. Silva is fighting to break Beach's control of his arms but Beach is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Beach is trying to keep Silva in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Silva throws a strike but Beach rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Silva looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Beach puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Beach missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Beach is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beach keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Beach throwing shots but Silva is blocking nicely. Silva tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Beach has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Silva tries to reverse the position but Beach maintains control. Beach working for a submission but Silva is keeping him at bay. Silva is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Silva is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Silva wants to control but Beach is having none of it. Silva sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Silva looks gassed! Beach frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Beach prevents Silva from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Silva is just holding on here. Beach manages to take his back.
Silva turns into Beach and is now in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Wanderlei Silva will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Beach closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Beach passes the guard and advances to mount! Beach is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! A left and a right from Silva both land. Nice combination. Beach tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance. Beach gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Beach is trying to control the position but Silva postures up. Silva throws and elbow that misses. Beach uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Silva's guard. Nice move by Beach! Beach stopping the sweep attempt from Silva. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silva is on top in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to control from the top but Beach keeps moving. Beach looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Beach is trying to keep Silva in close.
Silva throws and elbow that misses. Beach uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Silva's guard. Nice move by Beach! Silva is looking to sweep but instead, Beach has passed into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Beach looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Beach is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Beach to get the leverage. Silva won't allow Beach to pass to mount. Silva holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Silva wants to control but Beach is keeping busy.
Beach wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it. Beach wants to stand up but Silva is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is trying to maintain the position but Beach is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Beach shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily. Silva looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Beach bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Silva connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Silva scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Beach takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Silva has managed to clinch.
Beach is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A punch combination from Silva misses. Beach tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Silva counters with a takedown into side control. Silva is looking to take a break and control but Beach is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Silva working the head with strikes. Beach sneaks back into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wanderlei Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Silva clinches up with Beach and pushes him back against the cage. Silva is pressed up against the cage. Beach has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Silva down to the mat. Silva avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Silva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Beach. Silva clinches with his opponent.

Silva shoots in and bounces Beach off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Beach has wrist control. Silva is looking to stand up but Beach won't let him. Silva throwing strikes but missing. Beach looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva wants to control from the top but Beach keeps moving. Silva must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Beach trying to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Beach wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beach sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Silva missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Silva is keen to just control but Beach is a slippery customer. Beach is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Beach has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Beach trying to control here.
And that's the end of the fight! Wanderlei Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
